Art Opening “Long Time Gone” Works By Nancy Gamon - Cincinnati Event
November 07, 2014 - Cincinnati
"Long Time Gone", a selection of new work by local artist Nancy Gamon, opens 6-10pm, Friday, November 7, at POPP=D Art Gallery, 2622 Vine St, Cincinnati OH 45219. Gamon is an experimental mixed-media artist, and the exhibit features both abstract and realistic work created with paint, fabric and paper. Several of the portraits included were inspired by old family photographs, reworked in a contemporary fashion against abstract backgrounds. All of the pieces were made during the past year and a half, and many are being shown for the first time.
This special exhibit includes collaborative works created with guest artists Laura Krugh, Karl Halvorson, Barb Smucker and Henry Halvorson. There are also a few anonymous collaborations featuring reworked thrift shop canvasses.
Gamon's artwork, fashion accessories and home décor items have been featured in magazines, newspapers, books, and online resources. She is past President of Contemporary Quilt and Fiber Artists (CQAFA), a local creative association. For more information, please visit nancygamon.com.
Artwork is on display through the month of November, during which time it may be seen by appointment. To schedule a visit, contact Curator Melissa Mitchell (513) 348-6808, melissa@mellkat.com.
