Gather walnuts from under trees, remove husks with a corn sheller, try your hand at cracking them and savor fresh nutmeats. Then create crafts with walnut shells or hull ink. The experience is full of botany, history and lore of the black walnut. Drop by the Outdoor Learning Center at Rowe Woods anytime between 10 am-3 pm. Discover the significance of nut trees for the history of Cincinnati as well as for the forest health on a guided nut-collecting hike: 11 am, 1 pm or 2 pm.
Members free; nonmember adult $8, nonmember child $3. Nonmember fee includes daily admission.
