Community Development Professionals will present its inaugural Non-Profit Development Conference, on October 10-11, 2013 in several venues in downtown Hamilton. The purpose of this conference is to build stronger communities by building stronger nonprofits. "We are committed to helping nonprofits strengthen their capacity to get organized and get funded," says Mindy Muller, president and CEO of Community Development Professionals. "We know nonprofits are vital to the community and this conference gives nonprofit staff and volunteers resources they need to continue their good work," says Muller. Several partners have joined with CDP to host its nonprofit workshops including BizTech Center, Center for Community Revitalization, Downtown Miami, and Butler County Historical Society. Muller says these partners are indicative of the importance of partnerships for nonprofits. "These organizations get it," says Muller. "It's about serving the community and their partnership for this conference demonstrates their commitment to this community and its charitable organizations." This two-day conference offers a variety of workshops to nonprofits including Board Basics, Mastering the Art of Grant Writing, Media Relations, and Social Entrepreneurship and will also include CDP's newest workshop, Understanding Human Resources.
