The Cincinnati Classical Guitar Society proudly presents celebrated guitarist David Ferrara February 8, 2013 at 7:30 pm David Ferrara, a recent transplant to the St. Louis area, holds performance degrees from the University of Cincinnati's CCM and from Southern Methodist University, where he studied with noted Segovia pupils Clare Callahan and Robert Guthrie, respectively. He performed in masterclasses with Oscar Ghiglia, Carlos Barbosa-Lima, William Kanengiser, Pepe Romero, Norbert Kraft, Scott Tennant, among others, and won several national competitions as a student. He has performed with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Pops, Dayton Philharmonic and many other ensembles. He was twice awarded a Master's Fellowship in grants directed from the National Endowment for the Arts. He has recorded two CDs: "Songs Without Words" (2003) and "Diabolico and Friends" (2013). He has taught privately and at the college level for many years and concertizes and performs year-round.
