Ohio Valley Voices Gala - Cincinnati Event

OHIO VALLEY VOICES ANNOUNCES ITS ANNUAL GALA FUNDRAISER "COME TO THE ISLANDS" Enjoy an evening of sophisticated island elegance as Ohio Valley Voices presents its Annual Gala Fundraiser "Come to the Islands," on Saturday, February 23, 2013. The event will take place at The Oasis Golf & Conference Center in Loveland, OH from 6:30 - 11:00 p.m. Guests will enjoy a cocktail hour featuring beverages from the tropics, a performance by the Walnut Hills Steel Drum Band, and a sit-down dinner featuring Caribbean-inspired cuisine. The evening events include dancing and island-themed entertainment. The Oasis will be adorned with cabanas, a tiki bar, and a cigar retreat to help guests experience a mini escape to the islands. The 2012-2013 school-year commemorates Ohio Valley Voices' 13 years as a non-profit program in the Cincinnati area. The program began in 1999 when three local families wanted their young deaf children to speak and to understand speech. Through their actions, Ohio Valley Voices opened its doors to serve deaf and hearing-impaired children in the Greater Cincinnati area in the summer of 2000. Ohio Valley Voices is proud to announce that they have taught hundreds of deaf children to speak and be understood. The program has transitioned over one hundred and three deaf children back into their community schools. Ohio Valley Voices' Executive Director Maria Sentelik says, "Each of our graduates is succeeding alongside their hearing peers. We are the only program of our kind in the Tristate area, through individualized attention and intense therapy; we have been able to give deaf children a choice for their future.
